Vice President and General ManagerRon Cosper
Millennia Technology is headed by Ron Cosper, Acting Vice President and General Manager, who is also President of the parent company, The Millennia Group. Ron came to Millennia Technology in January 2007 to lead the division to reach new heights in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. He served in this capacity throughout 2007 and was able to deliver breakthrough performance improvements in areas of reduced manufacturing cycles, improvements in SMT productivity, reductions in SMT changeovers, or set-ups, reductions in WIP inventory, and plant-wide improvement in overall productivity.
Ron was promoted to President/COO of MTI’s parent—The Millennia Group in January 2008, where he will bring his tier-1 Electronic Manufacturing Expertise to all of The Millennia Group’s divisions.
With over 30 years experience, and a strong advocate for Lean Six Sigma, Ron has held senior/executive management roles with small, medium, and large companies, all within the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. Ron is an operations expert, who came to MTI from Celestica Corporation, a $10 billion, global, tier-one, EMS provider headquartered in Toronto, Canada, where he was most recently the Merger & Acquisition Leader for Celestica’s Americas Region during all of 2006. Prior to this, Ron was the General Manager of Celestica’s Mexico Region from 2003 to 2005, where his Monterrey, Mexico manufacturing campus won the coveted Shingo Prize, the “Nobel Prize for Lean Manufacturing Excellence.” Ron was promoted to the Mexico Region from Celestica’s Raleigh, NC facility, where he was General Manager from 2001 to 2003. In 2002, he won the President’s Award for establishing several corporate best practices, including NPI cycle-time (26 hours), Inventory Control (.002% variances), On-Time Delivery of 100%, and Customer Satisfaction (exceeding 90%).
Prior to Celestica, Ron was General Manager of VisiCom Manufacturing Technologies in Golden, Colorado for three years, and Vice President of Operations at IEC Electronics Corporation in upstate NY for 6 years. Prior to this Ron spent almost 12 years in Huntsville, AL where he held senior management positions of increasing responsibility with several companies, including Avco (later changed to Avex) Electronics, and SCI Systems.
Ron is a graduate of Tarleton State University, a part of the Texas A&M University System, an holds a BS Degree in Physics/Mathematics. A Distinguished Military Graduate, Ron served a tour of duty in Vietnam, and received numerous awards for gallantry in action, including the Silver Star and Bronze Star.
Vice President Sales/Marketing—Tip Turpin
Tip has over 30 years of experience in the electronic manufacturing services industry where he has held senior/executive positions in sales/marketing and operations. He comes to MTI as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing from the Harry Krantz Company in Edgewood, NY where he was VP Business Development for the past nine years as the company more than doubled their revenue.
Prior to Harry Krantz Company, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Family Safety Products in Alabaster, AL, a manufacturer of carbon monoxide detectors, for three years where he grew the company’s revenue by 30% annually, while doubling their product offerings. He came to Family Safety Products from ITEC, a Huntsville, AL electronic product manufacturer, where he was Vice President of Marketing, responsible for developing their entry into contract electronic manufacturing. From scratch, he grew their revenue to $16 million within three years.
Tip has held other senior positions within the electronic manufacturing industry with several other companies, namely VP of Business Development of Momentum Manufacturing in Herkimer, NY. He was Director of Marketing of PBR Electronics, a regional contract manufacturer in Athens, AL, which served both military and commercial markets. For three years, he was a senior marketing representative for Avco (AVEX) Electronics in Huntsville, AL which was later acquired by Benchmark Electronics. He started his career as an electronic component representative, and served as an independent rep for ten years.
Materials Manager—Pat Sims
With over 30 years of experience in Operations and Supply Chain management and a proven track record of successful lean manufacturing implementations, Pat has held senior/executive positions for several companies. Pat joined Millennia in March 2007 as Materials Manager.
Pat came to Millennia from Cattron Group International, a world leader in manufacturing Industrial Radio Remote Control Units where he was the Director of Sourcing and Materials. Prior to this, Pat spent 20 years with Bacharach Inc., a manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical instruments for combustion and fuel efficiency analysis, gas detection, and safety products. While there Pat served over 15 years in their Supply Chain as Purchasing Manager and then Materials Manager, prior to becoming their Director of Operations.
Manager of Production Control & Lean Leader—Paul Frisbie
Paul has over 30 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry. During this time Paul has held several different senior management positions, which have provided him with a solid, yet diverse, background needed in the Electronic Manufacturing Service Industry (EMS). Paul has been with Millennia Technology for over 10 years and is currently in charge of Lean Six Sigma initiatives and Master Scheduling. While with MTI, Paul has held management positions in Program Management, Documentation Control, and Manufacturing. During his time with MTI, Paul has helped improve on-time delivery, and was instrumental in a major re-layout of the shop floor. Applying lean principles, his efforts have resulted in significant savings in floor space utilization.
Paul came to MTI from Cleveland Machine Controls (CMC) where he held positions as a Manufacturing Manager and Process Engineer. During his time with CMC, he helped to improve on time delivery to > than 98% while maintaining an inventory accuracy of 99.8%. Paul also led the team that identified process improvements which yielded cost savings of >$100K for the 2 years for which he was responsible.
Prior to CMC, Paul was with Control Systems Research (CSR), which was a division of Contraves-Goerz, (which was acquired by CMC). While with CSR Paul held several positions of increasing responsibility starting as an electronic technician and working his way up to manufacturing manager.
Paul began his career with the National Cash Register Corp. (NCR) as an electronic technician in 1974.
Manager of Customer Service—Doug Harchick
Doug Harchick joined Millennia Technology, as Manager of Customer Service, and brings nearly 15 years management experience in manufacturing, production planning, purchasing and customer relations. His expertise includes global operations management, implementation of lean manufacturing principles and production management. Prior to joining MTI, Harchick was employed by DeLaTorre Orthotics and Prosthetics, a leader in the manufacture of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices, where he held the position of Operations Manager. While there, Harchick developed and launched lean manufacturing principles and customer service strategies that helped lead the company to being named as one of Pittsburgh’s 100 fastest growing companies.
Harchick also held management positions at Medrad Inc., a worldwide market leader of medical devices that enable or enhance diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures and winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. While there, Harchick held positions as Process Manager of Support Services and Disposables Products before becoming Manager of Global Operations.
Harchick will report to Ron Cosper, MTI’s vice president and general manager. He will play a key role in driving the organization to achieve performance excellence with emphasis on total customer satisfaction.
