"Restriction on Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (RoHS) became effective July 1, 2006. TMG Electronics recognized that customers required early availability of RoHS compliant printed circuit board products and as such, had set an aggressive schedule for developing and delivering lead free manufacturing capabilities to provide products that met the directive prior to the 2006 deadline.
Beginning in 2004, TMG Electronics established a Steering Committee consisting of members from the necessary functional areas within three operating divisions to begin the formal process of addressing a company-wide response to the RoHS directive.
TMG Electronics has pro-actively developed and implemented a lead-free, RoHS (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances) manufacturing process and worked with suppliers regarding lead-free printed circuit board materials. The investment in advancing our environmentally-driven manufacturing capability benefits all customers who are facing the challenges of complying with the impending legislation mandated . Making RoHS compliant printed circuit boards available today allows our customers to move forward on their "green initiative road map" and prepare in advance to align their products and organizations to be RoHS compliant.
Today, TMG Electronics meets RoHS compliance for printed circuit boards and met the compliance requirements prior to July 1, 2006. TMG Electronics has developed a new line of circuit boards that comply with those restrictions. A variety of surface finishes: Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold (ENIG), immersion white tin and Entek OSP provide a range in lead free soldering performances, shelf life, cost and long term reliability.
TMG Electronics ' customers can be assured that the removal of mandated hazardous substances will not reduce performance of their printed circuit board products. Our process has been engineered to meet IPC, UL and UE standards while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.
